Identity & Compliance Verification

KYC & Identity Verification Policy

Effective: October 29, 2026 (v1.0)

1. Proportionate Verification Philosophy

Superchat BD follows a risk-based, tiered approach to Know-Your-Customer (KYC) verification. We avoid placing burdensome bureaucratic requirements on small streamers while strictly adhering to Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Counter-Terrorism Financing (CFT) laws of Bangladesh.

Tier 1: Standard Onboarding

Standard creators and micro-donations. Requires verified email address, linked social streaming channel (YouTube, TikTok, Facebook Gaming), and standard phone-verified bKash/Nagad payout number.

Tier 2: Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD)

Applies when cumulative withdrawals exceed ৳100,000, when substantial developer checkout volume occurs, or when an account is placed on a compliance review hold due to unusual transaction patterns.

2. Enhanced Verification Documents

When Enhanced Due Diligence is requested by compliance officers, users may be asked to provide:

  • Government-Issued Photo ID: Bangladesh National ID (NID), Smart NID Card, or Passport.
  • Proof of Payout Instrument Ownership: A screenshot of the bKash/Nagad app profile screen or a bank statement copy showing matching account name and phone number.
  • Content Proof: Verification of the associated live streaming channel, website domain ownership, or software product.

3. Data Privacy & Compliance with 2025 Ordinance

All personal information submitted for identity verification is handled in strict compliance with the Personal Data Protection Ordinance, 2025 of Bangladesh:

  • Purpose Limitation: ID documents are utilized solely for fraud prevention, AML compliance, and payout validation. They are never shared with marketing partners or third-party advertisers.
  • Secure Storage: Sensitive identity verification files are encrypted at rest and in transit with strict role-based access restricted to authorized compliance officers.
  • Retention Schedule: Verification records are retained only for the legally mandated statutory period under banking guidelines, after which they are securely purged.

4. Failure or Refusal of Verification

If a user fails to provide necessary verification documents within 14 business days of an enhanced due diligence request, pending payouts will remain on administrative hold and account features may be restricted. Legitimate creators who experience document delays can request an extension via our appeals desk.
